Car Dealerships

In this post we will have a look at Car Dealerships Are Still Relevant In Today’s Digital Age: Here’s Why.

Car dealerships are still in business, and many of them are doing extremely well for themselves, but why?

You’d think with all the digital tools available to car buyers today that their appeal would have slightly fallen by the wayside, but surprisingly, that hasn’t happened.

Well, if you’re curious about how technology is interacting with this industry, this blog is for you. It’s even more relevant if you’re a car dealer that’s struggling to adapt to change.

Personalised Customer Service

First, car dealerships are surviving through personalised customer service. They’re not just doing this with their in-person interactions, but also through their chatbots and blogs.

AI is making personalisation even better, too. It’s allowing reps to gather information from customers and provide them with the best service possible.

Financing And Trade-In Expertise

Then there is the financing and trade-in expertise that a lot of these car dealerships offer. They often have close relationships with lenders, making it more straightforward for them to set up loans.

Furthermore, they can accurately price cars (which is something that a lot of companies can’t do). This trade-in knowledge means that they can provide better deals and offer substantial discounts on new vehicles.

Better Marketing

Dealerships are also taking a leaf out of the apps’ books and engaging in better marketing. Search engine optimisation for car dealers is now highly advanced and tailored to their specific business models, allowing them to connect with prospects in their area who may be interested in purchasing their vehicles.

This marketing can go viral for some car dealerships. There are all sorts of examples of small-scale dealers on YouTube and TikTok who blew up overnight because they were able to grab their audience’s attention and provide them with interesting, click-worthy content.

Immediate Deliverability

Then, of course, there is the fact that many of these dealers can deliver vehicles immediately. Usually, they can send them out the next day, once the payments and financing are approved.

This speed is something that is harder to achieve via apps. Dealers have the physical premises to store these cars, whereas other options, like direct-to-manufacturer, don’t work as well.

After-Sales Support

Then there is the after-sales support and maintenance. Many dealers will sell cars with warranties even if they are used, and happily service or repair them if they break down or need support.

After-sales can also help with small things, like providing new hydraulics for the trunk stanchions or providing a supply of air filters for when the old ones need replacing.

It’s little touches like these that make many dealers more attractive.

Local Sales And Vehicle Knowledge

Finally, dealers have more knowledge of local sales and vehicles, which options are popular and which are likely to break down.

This knowledge isn’t something you get when you order online, but it can be useful, especially if customers live in an area with a lot of rain, snow, grit, or off-road tracks. The knowledge of which cars can fare best in these is essential.
